Wedding Design Internship with Amorology Weeks 1 & 2

I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to come to California, San Diego area. I'm working as an intern with Amorology, who is a compnay that is started and owned by Heather for 12 years.  She is capable of bringing in customized, personality inspired, brightly decorated and coordinated weddings. It is a high end company and is targeted toward couples willing to have $30,000+ budgets.
My first week I dove in to things and it was overwhelming to say the least. In the office for 7 hrs with no breaks and constant emails that my mind couldn't really wrap around, I was brutally welcomed in to the real work force haha but good news is that i'm slowly enjoying it more and more now that i have become familiar with vendors and the details of each wedding. It just is initially confusing when you don't start from the top and know all of the details because they all start to mesh together and overlap since we're coordinating around 15 weddings at a time.

My first weekend we had 2 weddings. The first was a week of coordination where the mother of the bride had everything figured out, they just hired us to put it up and take down and set up a timeline and make sure everything got done on schedule. It was a very sweet wedding, fully equipped with a cigar bar that wasn't contained which wasn't so sweet in my opinion.

The very next day I traveled to Palm Springs where we did a celebrity wedding for Katie, and actress from Switched at Birth.  Most of the cast was there and it was fun to meet them and spend the evening with them as well. This wedding was one of a kind and very unique. The details were exceptional along with delicious desserts! Setting up was KILLER. Only because it was 100+ degrees with a very high humidity. On top of that we're required to wear all black to each wedding for a professional, distinguishable look. After being drenched in sweat, i was used to it and was able to enjoy to wedding. Thank goodness for cold drinks, free delicious quality popsicles, and a guest house that was fortunately equipped with air conditioning to keep us alive.

Fun games with the escort cards that connected people to their seats at the table they were assigned.
These were the last of the Gideon photography photos i could snag:

On my second week, we didn't have any weddings however Heather did take on a last minute photo shoot for a family that was willing to spend anything to get shots of their 2 year old girls for their birthday. There was a lot of transporting things to and from on the beach and i ended up getting blisters on my feet from the sand! No shoes were better than the ones i was wearing since i originally wasn't expecting to be going to this shot. In the end, having a tea party set up on the beach and another set up of a bohemian tent, they were able to get some cute pictures.

Unfortunately these pictures are done by the hand of myself and more quality pictures from the photographers that we hire out are much more capable of showcasing the wow factor that Amorology is capable of. Sorry i can't share those with you. But these help visualize what i'm talking about and will help me remember details.
